Three tips for you to prepare your next portrait session
Welcome back everyone, Happy Wednesday! Today’s article will be focusing on three tips for you to prepare your next portrait session. Here we go!
Choose your smile.
First of all, you need to choose a smile for your portrait. Chances are that you will be doing a variety of facial expressions on the day of the shoot. You want to rehearse a variety of smiles: a big smile, three-quarter smile, half-smile, closed-mouth smile. Upon practicing in the mirror or using your phone camera, you will see what types of smiles look most natural for you. You can use that smile in front of the camera.
Dress your style.
How to dress your style? The best option is to dress to match with your brand. For example, you can wear your logo t-shirt or a shirt in your brand color. A good rule of thumb should be to consider how you’d want to present yourself to a new client and then dress accordingly.
Pose your best.
Can we all agree that body language is the key in portrait session? No matter what style of photo you end up going for, good posture is essential since it exudes confidence and professionalism. Simply sit or stand with your back straight and your shoulders back while remaining relatively relaxed. Also, when you stand, you can practice to shift your weight to one foot or the other. The shifting can and should be very subtle and slight, but we would like to avoid being 100 percent facing the camera in order to get the best look.
