Three Tips to Create an Effective Call to Action

What is Call to Action?

A call to action, known as CTA, can be seen anywhere in the marketing world. Call to Action is as simple as it sounds - it invites your audiences to leap into an action after seeing your offer. For example, it can be a “Contact Us” button that invites audiences to leave their information. Or, it can be a clickable link to invite them to subscribe to your channel.

The best CTAs are clear but specific and create urgency that persuade the audiences to take the action. Today we will share three tips that help your CTAs to be more effective in the future.

Tip 1: Establish an Irresistible Offer

Without a good offer, your CTA will be like a car without an engine. With an irresistible offer, your CTA will be strongly effective. How to do it then? Know your audience. For example, it can be a free consultation if you are a financial advisor. It can be a nice cup of free coffee if you are a local bagel shop. It can also be a chance to win a complimentary night of stay if you represent a hotel.

You can even let your audiences choose the offer. Using the “poll” function on Instagram can be a fun and interactive way for you to figure out what do your audience want and need.

So, do you have an offer in mind?

Tip 2: Set Only One Goal

Another important tip for you to have an effective CTA is setting one goal at a time. You can try using one CTA to achieve multiple goals, but our suggestion is to stay with one goal for each campaign. For example, if your goal is collecting emails from your audiences, you could create a CTA to ask them to fill out a contact form by offering free consultations. Then, you could email them another offer in order to convert them to your customers. Setting one goal at a time, your call to action will work more effectively. Below we’ve listed some common goals.

  • Increase social media followers

  • Collect emails

  • Get subscriptions

  • Drive Sales

So, what will be your next goal?

Tip 3: Have Multiple CTA

Having multiple call to actions will give you more chances to persuade your audiences to take actions. How do you create multiple call to actions? For example, you could hyperlink the words on your blog. You could put the same button on each of your website page. You could add a Contact Us form on the landing page. You could write “DM Us” on your next IG or FB story post. These are all CTAs you could try!

So, which one will you try next?
