Five Tips of Successful Video Marketing
Happy Wednesday! We are glad to see you coming back to read this article. By writing this article, we would love to share the five tips of successful video marketing with you. Here we go!
Deliver a Valuable Message, Not Make a Sale
First thing first, we need to deliver a valuable message to viewers, not to push for a sale. Nowadays people prefer to watch videos that deliver valuable messages. So, if your videos would like to join that preferred list, they need to be valuable for the viewers. When a video focuses on a brand, or driving sales, it will simply be ignored.
What messages to deliver then? You can tell a story about your company or yourself. You can educate your viewers about your professional field. You can even ask questions for the viewers to think about. Remember, delivering a valuable message through each video is the key to successful video marketing.
Add Captions and Subtitles
A survey has found that 92% of U.S. consumers view videos with the sound off on mobile and 83% watch with sound off, according to a new report from Verizon Media and ad buyer Publicis Media. The report also found that 50% of consumers said captions are important because they watch videos with the sound off. So, in order to achieve a successful video marketing, you should try to add captions and subtitles to your videos.
Make the Video Mobile-friendly
Based on eMarketer’s research, 75% of all video plays are on mobile devices. I believe this fact already states the significance of making your videos mobile-friendly. How to make videos mobile-friendly? If you are uploading the videos to IG as IGTV, you need to present videos vertically for viewers’ connivence. Instead, if you are uploading the videos to IG as regular posts, you need to adjust them to be square size. This is just a simple example. There are many other ways we can make our videos mobile-friendly. We will talk more about this in the next few blogs.
Optimize for Search
If you are uploading your video to YouTube or Facebook or any social media, description is the must-have. By describing your videos, you are optimizing your videos for search. How to add description? You can add links to your company website or your personal IG. You can write a teaser of your video. You can tell the behind-the-scene story. There are many ways you can try by adding descriptions to your videos. It could be really helpful in terms of being found!
Another important way to optimize your videos is adding keywords. Similar to blog content, you need to add keywords to your videos in order to get them ranked high.
Use First 10s Wisely
Studies have found that you have just 10 seconds to grab an audience and call them to action. After these 10 seconds, the engagement drops off significantly. Viewers will continue to scroll down or click away from your video. So, you need to use the first 10 seconds wisely. Try to be transparent to your viewers during the first 10 seconds.
How to be transparent? You can deliver that valuable message in the first 10 seconds, and use the rest of the video to explain more details. Or you can ask a great question to catch their attention and answer the question using the rest of the video. Once the message catches your viewers attention, your video marketing starts to be effective in regards of engagement. And, never forget to add a call to action.
What is call to action you may ask… No worries, we will give you five successful call to actions in our next blog. Stay tuned and see you next time!
